VIP working with the University of Pittsburgh

The Vandergrift Improvement Program continues to work with the students from the Mascaro Sustainability Initiative at the University of Pittsburgh. The engineering students are working to research and develop hydrokinetic technology for harnessing energy from the Kiskiminetas River to power the downtown.

What happened to all the interested parties? Did the idea die? I would like to know the statistics on the river. Is it feasible?
